Welcome
London based. I've always had an interest and passion for both the practice of art and its history - studying the techniques of the old masters.
My primary interest is focused on the human figure. The expressiveness of the human body and how it occupies and influences the space around it is always fascinating. Also, the way the figure has been depicted throughout history by the many and varied ancient civilizations is of great interest. The same themes are universal.
Influences and inspiration come from many sources and, like all artists, change or develop over time.
Italian Baroque painting for its complex and elegant compositions. Artists such as Edward Hopper, and Walter Sickert for their their quiet melancholy.
Other things, such as vintage (fillm noir & horror) movies and 20th century illustration are also sources.
The world of visual imagery (past and present) is infinite, exciting and always inspirational.
